Meghan Markle's Half-Sister Is Getting a Taste of Her Own Medicine
Although we don't wish cyberbullying on anyone, we have to say it's a wee bit ironic that Meghan Markle's estranged half-sister, Samantha Markle, is claiming to be a victim of the hateful crime. In a recent interview with Fox News (we know), Samantha said that the cyberbullying she's fallen prey to in recent years has become "overwhelming."
Need we even say it? We have some feelings about this.
Apparently, the duchess's half-sister, who she hasn't spoken to in years, has filed a complaint with the Polk County Sheriff's Department about the bullying.
"Sharing my address, sharing my private information, social security information, medical records, and some of these trolls will literally stop at nothing," Samantha said in the interview.
She then added:
"There are also people who are mentally unstable who take it to an irrational level; threats and spending their time, around the clock, obsessing about me. We need to be adults and agree to disagree. Just because you don't like someone or what they have to say, it doesn’t mean you harass them ... I don’t think it is right that they're allowed to do it anonymously behind an avatar."
Although yes, we certainly agree that it's unhealthy for people to "spend their time obsessing" about Samantha, let's not forget something here ...
SAMANTHA HAS BEEN COMPLETELY OBSESSED WITH MEGHAN SINCE SHE STARTED DATING PRINCE HARRY!
Despite having virtually no relationship with Meghan, Samantha has capitalized on her association with the duchess at every turn! From calling her "duchASS" to chastising her over her relationship with her father to trying to get into Kensington Palace, Samantha's behavior has been completely out of control since Meghan became associated with the royal family.
We can't say we're surprised that people are @ing her after some of the interviews Samantha's given and comments she has made.
Adding to the irony is the fact that, during the interview, Samantha also took the opportunity to gossip about Meghan's relationship with their father.
"I'd like for them to be able to get together and for her to apologize and say, 'Wow, my life was caught up in a media storm, but, Dad, I love you. I'm sorry this happened,'" she said.
Oh. OK.
Again, we don't want to see anyone getting cyberbullied, but ultimately, you get what you put out into the world.
Samantha has been downright cruel to Meghan Markle, so it's really not all that surprising that people have been coming after her in the last year. Even though publishing personal information about her, such as her address, is crossing the line, maybe it's a good thing that Samantha is getting a taste of her own medicine?
And hey, maybe it'll teach her that if you stop talking trash about people, people will stop talking trash about -- and to -- you. Just a thought.
