Beloved Kids' Book Cat Mog Is Star of Christmas Commercial That's Making Everyone Cry (VIDEO)

Prolific children's book author Judith Kerr has revived one of her most beloved characters to bring us perhaps the best holiday advertisement of the season. Clumsy kitty Mog is back for "Mog's Christmas Calamity," and the feline is just as accident-prone as ever.

The heartfelt short video was put out by the British supermarket chain Sainsbury's and is already being hailed as the best of the season by viewers. It's been viewed over a million and a half times in less than 24 hours.

Mog has been loved by children and adults alike for decades, but now she's comes to life like never before to accidentally almost ruin Christmas for the Thomas family. Don't worry, though! Like many a Christmas tale before it, things have a way of magically coming together at the end to share the importance of family, love, and friendship.

Ninety-two-year-old Kerr brought Mog back for the Christmas commercial. It's her first appearance since the 2002 book Goodbye Mog, which dealt with the faithful kitty's death.

In addition to the CGI kitty in the ad, Mog will be on the pages once again as well, in an illustrated book of the same name to be sold in Sainsbury's stores. All profits will go to the charity Save the Children, so this is one we can feel good about in addition to just loving the sweet message.

Kerr told The Guardian, "I have enjoyed illustrating Mog again after so many years and am thrilled that this special Christmas story will help raise funds for Save the Children and the important work they do for children's literacy."

We're glad too, Ms. Kerr.
