Baseball Fan Double-Slammed for Catching Ball in Play While Barely Holding Onto Baby (VIDEO)

A baseball fan is getting flack for interfering with a Cubs vs. Dodgers game by catching a foul ball a player could have caught ... what's more, this fan did so while barely holding a baby in his arms.

It was a Cubs Vs. Dodgers game at Wrigley Field, and the foul ball was soaring behind first base. Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez was perfectly poised to catch it, right before the fan reached out and all but plucked it out of his glove. Check out the video below:

Umpires called the batter out due to the fan's interference ... meanwhile, the fan has been pelted with plenty of potshots, particularly on his parenting skills: i.e., "The child should be taken away and the idiot should be neutered."

While I'm not sure I agree with the neutering comment, this does make me very glad my husband is not a sports fan -- especially a fan who is so unsportsmanlike as to interfere with a play. I'd also say that this guy did put that baby at risk, mere inches from being bonked in the face!

But to play devil's advocate here, there are things to like about what happened. For instance, I like the fact that this dad brought his baby to the game, rather that ditching his wife and kids at home to watch baseball with his buddies! Even if his judgment is sorely lacking, I appreciate the fact that he's trying to share his passion with his kids. So let's give credit where credit's due.

What do you think of this dad bringing his baby to a baseball game?
