Fed-Up Mom Calls C-SPAN To Scold Bickering Pundit Brothers on Live TV

And now in the greatest moment in C-SPAN history ... OK, I know what you're thinking. C-SPAN is totally boring, but I promise, for at least two minutes on Tuesday, December 16, it was totally entertaining, as Dallas and Brad Woodhouse's mother called in to scold her politically opposed sons.

The brothers sit on opposite sides of the political aisle, and were on the air discussing their documentary, Woodhouse Divided, and debating current issues when "Joy in North Carolina" called in. Dallas, a Republican, said, "Hey, somebody from down South!"

"You're right I'm from down south," came the sassy reply. Dallas then does a facepalm when he recognizes her voice and says, "Oh God, it's mom." That's when Brad, a Democrat, started busting up laughing, and we did too.

"I'm your mother. And I disagree that all families are like ours. I don't know many families that are fighting at Thanksgiving," she scolded them. "I was very glad that this Thanksgiving was a year that you two were supposed to go to your in-laws. And I'm hoping you'll have some of this out of your system when you come here for Christmas. I would really like a peaceful Christmas. I love you both."

Ha! Host Steve Scully then informed the audience that it was not a planned call, and that "she called in on the normal line." He asked Joy what it was like to be the mother of two men with such opposing world views.

"I love politics. Their dad and I both love politics ... I know that we have to take responsibility for them," their mom said, while admitting to being a registered Democrat herself. "And they're both very passionate about what they believe in. And I love that about them. But I hope that they just kinda get this out of their system on your program."

It's pretty awesome.

Do you argue with family members over politics?
