Jimmy Fallon & Bruce Springsteen Mock Christie's 'Bridgegate' Scandal (VIDEO)

Bruce SPringsteenNew Jersey Governor Chris Christie has taken an enormous hit politically for the "Bridgegate" scandal that saw his advisors fired for closing lanes on the George Washington Bridge on the first day of school last September. The major traffic snarl kept some young children from school and may have even prevented ambulances from getting through to provide lifesaving care to an elderly woman who was dying.

It's not a very funny scandal at all. But Jimmy Fallon and Bruce Springsteen -- "The Boss" who basically represents Jersey life for so many of us -- have found a way to make us chuckle in spite of it all.

Last night, Springsteen was a guest on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon show, and the resulting music video has to be seen to be believed:

It's absolutely brilliant, no?

And for Christie, a self-proclaimed massive fan of The Boss, this has to be the worst blow ever. Christie has been an enormously popular governor in the Garden State and took to the air last week to proclaim his utter ignorance over the closing of the bridge lanes.

Emails released last week showed that Bridget Anne Kelly, who was Christie's deputy chief of staff until the governor fired her last week, said it was "time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee." But it was the two Christie appointees at the Port Authority, director of interstate capital projects David Wildstein and deputy executive director Bill Baroni, who actually shut the lanes down. Both resigned from their positions in December.

It's ridiculous, especially when you consider that the bridge is the single most trafficked bridge in the world and that some were unable to get to work for an entire day all because Fort Lee's Mayor Mark Sokolich refused to endorse Christie for governor. It's insanity.

The situation may mean Christie never gets that presidential run he was so hoping for in 2016. Well, that sucks for him, but do you know what sucks worse? Being stuck in an all-day traffic jam. Oh yeah. And having your idol openly mock you on national television. Seems like just desserts. If Christie didn't know, he's inept. If he did, he's a corrupt bully.

Either way: love to Bruce! We all needed this laugh.

Are you a Springsteen fan?
