I really think that this is something you start to prepare for from the time they are little. If they are taught to always make good choices in regaurds to these things then graduation and prom won't be any different.

I agree with countrygirl. It's not something that just springs up on you. You prepare for it, and you prepare them for it.

I think if you instilled those morals and values in them at a young age then you just have to pray that they listened and make good decisions when they are older. :)

I dont remember there being that many pressures for my prom night in 2000. I hope t hat its more hyped by worried parents perhaps? If it is that big of a deal then make sure your children are responsible enough not to be chaperoned...make sure they know how to make the best choices.

I was not pressured to do either on my prom night. I plan to keep open communication with my children.

Gosh I still have a few more years until my oldest hits the prom age... Next year he will have his 8th grade dinner dance.. Its up there with prom.

I didn't have a prom, and here, prom isn't a big ordeal, so I don't think there is much to worry about...

I never went to my proms and it's still a long way off for my dd.
