Kid Who Wore ‘Jesus Is Not a Homophobe’ Shirt Is Totally Going to Heaven

jesusWhat would Jesus do? He'd be on the side of the 16-year-old boy who's suing his high school because they won't let him wear a t-shirt printed with the words "Jesus Is Not a Homophobe," that's what he would do. Especially considering the boy, Maverick Couch, was wearing the shirt to promote "The Day of Silence," a nationwide event to show support for bullied gay and lesbian teens (coming up on April 20).

Funny, makes me think of a passage from Scripture:

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. [Matthew 5:6]

Blessed are you, Maverick Couch! Except don't wear that shirt with the rainbow Jesus fish on it, okay? 'Cause it's “indecent and sexual in nature" according to school officials.

Funny! Makes me think of a passage from Scripture:

Do not judge, lest you too be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. [Matthew 7:1 & 2]

Dear Lord, please grant Maverick Couch victory in court. Because not only is his school clearly "violating his freedom of expression," as he says, they're doing the exact opposite of everything You ever said to do!

Thank God (ha! Seriously, thank God!) that Couch has a cool mom. (She's actually the one suing the school on his behalf.) I bet that kid will "honor his mother" forever. And I bet she'll always honor her son for the brave and courageous person he's grown up to be.

Funny, makes me think of a passage from Scripture:

Blessed are you, when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you. [Matthew 5:10-12]

Do you think Maverick Couch should win the case against his school?
