Kids Perform Hallelujah Chorus Like No One Else Can (VIDEO)

hallelujah chorus kids alaskaThere's a community in Quinhagak, Alaska that deserves a gold medal in awesomeness. A teacher at the Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat school (betcha can't say that five times fast) organized a group of fifth graders, teachers, and residents to perform Handel's Hallelujah chorus like it's never been performed before. Using placards, crafty editing, and famous local landmarks such as the school gym, the church, a trailer, a playground, and a truck, this amazing group of people brings such a warmth and spirit to the video that you'll forget it's below freezing outside.

I gotta say that the boys who slide on their knees in the gym and the spinning girls are my favorite part, but it truly is tough to choose -- the whole video is so fantastic.

It's not only inspiring to see this song performed by some of the cutest kids on Earth, but it's also encouraging to know that there's a teacher out there who wanted to do this for his or her students and their community. This looks like it took a ton of time. While some teachers pray for Christmas break and have their kids watch videos in class to pass the time, this teacher was busy making a video. I want to assume the teacher is the guy at the end with the kids, but I'm not sure. Anyway, this video is something the town, the kids, and I won't forget for a long time -- it's just that awesome.

Congrats to the Kuinerrarmiut Elitnaurviat school and the town of Quinhagak for their fantastic work! If you're not in the holiday spirit yet, this video might just push you over the edge. Enjoy!
