5 Great Reasons to Buy Your Kid an iPad

ipad for kidsIn case you haven't seen a 2-year-old master an iPhone in five seconds, you may not know that our kids and technology go together like peas and carrots. This generation (and the next) will be using tech in ways we can't even imagine, so it's no surprise that many schools are starting to use tablets, like iPads, as part of their curriculum.

Even if your school isn't issuing iPads along with hall passes, it's not a bad idea to rustle one up for your young scholar. In fact, it's a great idea. If you were planning on buying a car, a spring break trip, or even a couple of pairs of designer jeans for your kid, buy an iPad instead.

Here are five reasons why an iPad should be in your kid's hands:

1. Your Kid Won't Want to Stop Studying

The first, and best, reason to get your student an iPad is that she will be instantly engaged with her work. In fact, she might think she's being rewarded when, in reality, she's doing her homework. That's one sure way to keep her in her study zone long enough to make a real difference in learning retention.

2. It's Better Than the Library

Yes, libraries are the best places to study and, in previous generations, to get information. But today you really need to supplement your library studying with up-to-the-minute information about what your kid is learning. That recent study from UCLA will not be published in the stacks, but he will find it during a Google search.

3. It's Less Expensive Than a Laptop

An iPad is not cheap, by any stretch of the imagination. However, it will not set you back like a laptop or desktop will. Less money for the cool factor makes it worth even more.

4. Everyone Else Will Have One

Normally, not the best reason to make a decision. However, when other kids are able to access films from the Natural History Museum, and your kid is left out, they'll lose academically.

5. You Can Play Robot Unicorn Attack

You're not going to let your kid have the iPad alone in his room, are you? Good. That means you can find fun apps for you to play after your child has gone to bed.
