Emilia Clarke Reveals How Jason Momoa Protected Her During 'GoT' Love Scenes
These Game of Thrones stars were all about looking out for each other -- but knowing Jason Momoa, we're not surprised one bit. Apparently, Jason protected Emilia Clarke when she filmed sex scenes on GoT that were a bit more gratuitous than most, and it sounds like she was so appreciative of him watching over her.
This week, Emilia opened up on Dax Shepard's 'Armchair Expert' podcast about filming with Jason.
Emilia opened up about the early days of Game of Thrones, and how she was only 23 when she started filming -- and immediately got thrown into doing scenes where she was a bit uncomfortable and in totally uncharted territory for her.
"I'd been on a film set twice before then, and now I'm on a film set completely naked with all of these people," she said on the podcast.
But fortunately, her costar was looking out for her.
Emilia said Jason "took care" of her while filming, and she was so appreciative of his help.
"He was so kind and considerate and cared about me as a human being," Emilia said, adding that he even made sure she had a robe after she filmed those scenes, because she was cold. So sweet!
Emilia went on to say that figuring out how things worked as she filmed the first season was tough, but "the scenes, when I got to do them with Jason, were wonderful, because he was like, 'No, sweetie, this isn't okay.'"
Now, Emilia's awesome at standing up for herself on set -- she's so strong!
Being that Emilia and Jason have always been so close, this doesn't surprise us at all.
When Emilia opened up about her brain aneurysms earlier this year, Jason revealed that it was pretty scary, seeing her health hang in the balance -- we can't imagine what that was like, but it seems as if all these experiences have truly brought them closer.
We love that Emilia has finally found her footing in the industry, because she deserves to be respected and heard.
No one should have to film love scenes they're uncomfortable with, so good for Emilia for defending herself.
We miss GoT, but hearing about these friendships that only formed because of the show is so special. We have a feeling this cast will be close for years.
