Another '90s TV reboot is coming through ... and this is one that we're super excited about. Nickelodeon is bringing back Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and the first trailer is finally here. Even though we aren't kids anymore -- like we were when we watched the original series -- we have a feeling this is going to be a very creepy reboot that will have us fighting with our families for the remote control.

  • The trailer starts with a group of friends (the Midnight Society) gathering around a campfire -- much like the show we remember from our childhood.

The friends -- who include stars Sam Ashe Arnold, Miya Cech, Tamara Smart, Jeremy Ray Taylor, and Liliyana Wray in the roles of Gavin, Akiko, Louise, Graham, and Rachel, respectively -- are trying to scare the daylights out of each other.

The trailer begins with Gavin asking, "Do you like scary stories?"

    Why yes, Gavin, we do.

  • Rachel, the new girl, has to prove herself, so she tells her own story called "The Carnival of Doom." But something totally unexpected happens ...

The Carnival of Doom from Rachel's story turns out to be real -- and it comes to the kids' town.

How did this happen? Why is this happening?

No one knows for sure, but we're really glad this didn't happen to us.

  • It all comes to life, complete with terrifying clowns and basically everything that could possibly turn a fun carnival into a real-life nightmare.

The kids from the Midnight Society decide to take matters into their own hands and put a stop to it. They come up with a plan and set it into motion, but judging from the montage of super creepy clips, it's not going to be easy ... and there's no word on if they make it out alive.

Don't watch this one at night, y'all.

  • There are machete-wielding clowns and creatures we cannot even identify lurking in the shadows. This AYAOTD reboot has it all.

We are truly pumped ... and a little scared. Is it just us, or is this totally scarier than the Are You Afraid of the Dark? that we remember watching back in the day?

But honestly, the fact that it's so scary really seems to make it look so good -- even though we might have nightmares after this show.

  • Fans are already super excited to see this reboot.

Given the amount of flack that revivals have been receiving lately, it's good to see that commenters are feeling positive about this one. And after seeing how awesome the trailer looks, we're feeling good about it, too.

  • You can watch the trailer in full below:

The show premieres on Nickelodeon on October 11 as a mini-series that consists of three episodes -- just in time for Halloween!

We can't wait to see it all unfold but will likely sleep with the lights on for the rest of the week.
