Amber Portwood's Future With MTV Is Up in the Air

It looks like Amber Portwood's future with MTV may be uncertain. She was a no-show for the Teen Mom OG reunion taping in New York City over the weekend, although it's unclear if she was asked not to attend, or chose not to go herself. Considering that the scheduled appearance came less than a week after she was hit with three felony charges, we're not surprised that she couldn't make it.

  • A source confirmed to Radar Online that Amber didn't join the Teen Mom OG gang in NYC over the weekend.

A source claiming to be close to Amber told the site, "She did not attend," and, "It just wasn't a consideration with everything else she has going on right now." The insider also said that Amber's job with MTV is "still up in the air at this time," but we're thinking it doesn't look good if she wasn't at the reunion.

It should also be noted that MTV didn't send a film crew to capture her last week as she went to court to face charges, after being arrested for domestic assault on July 5. None of the stars are currently filming, but when major events happen in any of their lives, the network usually sends a crew in to capture it.

  • A judge leveled three felony charges against Amber last week, for allegedly attacking her boyfriend with a machete.

Amber reportedly became enraged with Andrew Glennon after they were forced to skip a Fourth of July fireworks show due to closed roads. According to a police affidavit, Andrew claimed that Amber was raging for hours, and that he drove around with their 14-month-old son, James, for three hours, waiting for her to calm down.

Instead, when he got home, Andrew said Amber threatened to kill herself, and "took a handful of Klonopin and tossed it back like it was nothing." She reportedly regurgitated it, before coming at Andrew with a machete, while he was holding their baby.

    From the affidavit:

"Mr. Glennon stated Ms. Portwood picked up a machete towards him and [the baby]. Mr. Glennon stated he locked himself and [the baby] into the office," the affidavit states. "Mr. Glennon stated she hit the door with the machete and kicked the door and broke the handle. Mr. Glennon stated that is when he called for help."
Amber was arrested around 3 a.m., and was released on bond the next day. Andrew was not the one to bail her out, as it was reported that an unrelated female posted her $2,000 bail. Andrew has filed for full custody of James, and a judge has issued a no-contact order against Amber, forbidding her from having any communication with both Andrew and James.

  • Amber's future all around is up in the air at the moment, so it's not surprising that her job is uncertain as well.

Her relationship with Andrew is likely over, and we're not sure if she'll be granted any custody other than supervised visitation. She could also end up going back to prison, if she's convicted of those felony charges, including domestic battery, domestic battery committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years old, and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

Showing up for the Teen Mom OG reunion filming probably didn't even cross her radar.

  • Amber may not be fired from MTV (yet), but the network may already be filming with her "replacement" -- Mackenzie McKee.

The former Teen Mom 3 star was in New York City over the weekend. While she didn't post any photos with Maci Bookout, Catelynn Baltierra, or Cheyenne Floyd, we can't help but wonder what she was doing there, especially considering the rumors that she may have been hired to replace Bristol Palin, who exited the show after just one season.
