The more details that come out about Amber Portwood's arrest last week, the more horrified we are. The Teen Mom OG star was arrested after an alleged domestic assault in the wee hours of the morning on Friday, July 5, after her boyfriend, Andrew Glennon, contacted law enforcement when she allegedly attacked him while he was holding their 14-month-old son, James.

  • Amber was charged this week with three felonies following the arrest, including "criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon."

She was also charged with domestic battery and domestic battery committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years old. Amber allegedly attacked Andrew with a shoe, leaving marks on his shoulder, which police photographed.

But The Ashley's Reality Roundup found out that the shoe wasn't the "deadly weapon" the police report may have been referring to. Instead, Andrew claimed in his affidavit that Amber had a machete, and she wielded it against him while he was holding their child.

  • Andrew claimed the whole incident began when they couldn't make it to the fireworks on the Fourth of July like they had planned.

Apparently the roads were blocked due to heavy traffic, but Amber felt like Andrew "dropped the ball" on getting them there. When she started bashing his character, he says he dropped her off at home, and drove around with baby James so she could "cool off." After learning that the roads would reopen within 30 minutes, he attempted to return home, but it didn't go well.

"Mr. Glennon stated when he got inside the home, Ms. Portwood grabbed a shoe off the shoe rack and hit him with it. Mr. Glennon stated he was holding [the baby] and he turned to the side to avoid [the baby] getting hit with the shoe," the affidavit states. "Mr. Glennon stated he then left [the house] again with [the baby]."

Andrew told police he spent about three hours in the car with James, calling Amber multiple times "to gauge where she was at mentally and if things had cooled down." He eventually returned home and "got her a gift and brought her food."

  • Andrew said that when he got home with James, Amber was "coming at him like she was going to hit him."

According to the affidavit, "Mr. Glennon stated Ms. Portwood told him to put [the baby] down. Mr. Glennon stated [the baby] was crying and upset and he was not going to put him down. Mr. Glennon became visibly upset and stated Ms. Portwood then threatened to kill herself. Mr. Glennon stated Ms. Portwood went to her drawer and took a handful of Klonopin and tossed it back like it was nothing."

Andrew said he told Amber he was calling for help, and she allegedly regurgitated the pills. She also picked up a machete that she keeps for protection as she isn't allowed to own a firearm because she is a convicted felon.

"Mr. Glennon stated Ms. Portwood picked up a machete towards him and [the baby]. Mr. Glennon stated he locked himself and [the baby] into the office," the affidavit states. "Mr. Glennon stated she hit the door with the machete and kicked the door and broke the handle. Mr. Glennon stated that is when he called for help."

  • Andrew filed for sole custody of James this week, and a no-contact order had been put in place.

Andrew filled for sole custody of his son on Tuesday, and on Wednesday Amber was ordered to have no contact with either Andrew or James.

Although there haven't been any reports of an official breakup, we hope Andrew runs from this relationship. There is never any excuse for abuse, and just because Amber is female doesn't make it any less horrific. We just can't see how anyone can recover from an attack like that.
