Though this ABC series isn't slated to end any time soon, at some point, the fictitious doors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital will come to a close. And after 15 seasons, some are already thinking about the Grey's Anatomy endgame, including whether former costars will return to say goodbye. Katherine Heigl is opening up about Grey's and the possibility of a return that has many fans of the show hoping Izzy will make an appearance.

  • Katherine starred on Grey's Anatomy for six seasons before making her exit.

Her character, Isobel Stevens ("Izzie" for short), was an intern with OGs Meredith Grey, George O'Malley, Christina Yang, and Alex Karev. There was lots of drama between Izzie and Alex (cheating, marriage, and divorce), as well as her romance with a patient, Denny Duquette (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Add in cancer, hallucinations, being fired from her job, and abruptly leaving, and we'd say life was anything but dull for Izzie Stevens.

  • And with Grey's coming to an end at some point, she had a bit to say about the possibility of reprising her role.

To clarify, Grey's Anatomy is not going off the air. (It was picked up for another season.) Entertainment Tonight asked Katherine Heigl about the hit TV show's inevitable end given her current show, Suits, is ending.

"I'm going to miss being a part of it, but I'm gonna miss being able to watch it too," she tells the outlet about Suits ending. "Obviously being on it has changed my viewing of the show because just understanding even the space that they film in and being part of it kind of regularly now, versus watching it on television, has changed my viewership. I don't know if that's good or bad. Like, I almost ruined it for myself."

  • "I haven't [thought about Izzie] in years. I don't know. I don't know if I would or if I wouldn't," she reveals to Entertainment Tonight.

"I almost feel like that would almost be distracting again to, sort of, what they've done with that show in the seven years since I left ... and what that's become and what it is to the fans now," she continues. "It must feel like it would just be kind of like, 'Yeah, we already let that go ... why are you here?'"

  • Welp, it's a good thing Katherine isn't really interested, because people are on the fence.

The reaction has been extremely mixed. Some people would love to see Izzie on Grey's again, while others ... not so much. A number of people feel her ship has sailed and simply aren't interested.

  • Guess we can move on.

Looks like Izzie isn't interested in coming back, and it looks like some don't want her to anyway.

    Case closed.
