Beth Chapman Was Filming a New Reality Show Prior to Her Death

Beth Chapman, Duane Chapman

This week, Dog The Bounty Hunter fans got some seriously sad news when Beth Chapman passed away after a battle with throat cancer. We're so heartbroken for her family, and fortunately, it sounds like her legend will live on through a new show -- at least for a little while.

  • Dog and Beth recently were filming for their show, Dog's Most Wanted, and there's still unaired footage of Beth.

According to what sources close to production tell TMZ, the show was almost wrapped for the season. Although cameras were reportedly not filming when she died, Beth was still shooting the show with husband Dwayne "Dog" Chapman.

  • A source says that production stopped when Beth was hospitalized, and now, they have to decide how to end the season.

Reportedly, it will be up to Dog to decide how much of the footage of his wife he wants to share. The insider notes that the production team needs to figure out if they have enough footage to end the season or whether they can pick back up with the family after they've had time to grieve.

It's totally possible that more of Beth will air on Dog's Most Wanted ... but of course, this is a difficult time for the family, so they should take their time deciding on what's best for them.

  • News broke of Beth's death on Wednesday.

On Saturday, she had been placed in a medically induced coma, Entertainment Tonight reported, after battling throat cancer since 2017. Sadly, on Wednesday, her rep confirmed that she passed away at age 51.

WGN America, the network that will air Dog's Most Wanted, released a statement about Beth's passing, saying:

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic news that Beth Chapman has lost her battle with cancer today. She was an exceptional woman, fiercely loyal and passionate about her family and she was a true joy to work with. All of us at WGN America will miss her tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with Duane, her family, loved ones and millions of fans."

  • On Wednesday, Dog opened up about losing Beth, calling this "the most terrible time" for them.

When talking to Hawaii News Now, Dog said that they didn't realize they'd lose Beth so soon.

"You kind of try to remember that you’re celebrating life, but right now we’re mourning the death," he said. "For a few years we knew this day would come. It came really unexpected, really fast. All of her clothes, her make-up, everything. We didn't prepare."

  • We'll be thinking of the Chapmans at this difficult time.

We can't imagine how hard this must be for them, but we know they'll get through it together. Beth will never be forgotten, whether that footage airs on Dog's Most Wanted or not.
