These days, it's pretty much impossible to turn on the television -- or head to the theaters -- and not see some reboot or remake. Everything from Rugrats to Beverly Hills, 90210 is being revived that has some cheering and others turning a pretty major side eye. Welp, we have a show to put on the maybe list as Lost could get a reboot should ABC decide to pull the trigger and bring it back.

  • When asked about the possibility of bringing Lost back, a bigwig at ABC revealed she's not opposed to the idea.

"I would like that very much," Karey Burke, ABC programming chief, revealed about the potential for a Lost reboot during the Television Critics Association. "That is a reboot I would be interested in seeing."

Lost centered on survivors of Oceanic Flight 815, who crashed on an island that had more than one mystery. There were flashbacks, flashforwards, flash-sideways, a smoke monster, and some general crazy 'ish that made it one memorable -- and sometimes confusing -- TV show.

  • Although nothing is in the works as of now, it's quite apparent the idea of a revival has been on people's minds.

Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse revealed to ComicBook.com in 2017 why a reboot could happen in the future. "I do believe at some future point, someone else will do something in the Lost world and that's OK," he confessed. "There probably are some young wonderful writers out there. Maybe Damien Chazelle would like to do a musical in the world of Lost, I don't know. He's free to do it."

Still, he feels writers told the story how they wanted during the show's six-year run. "For Damon [Lindelof] and myself, we really feel like we were given an incredible opportunity to tell the story we wanted to tell," Cuse admitted. "It was really the first network show where we sort of dictated our own end date. We told the story we wanted to tell."
  • Well, fans of the show are reacting to the news ... and it's not exactly positive.

Yeahh, these comments definitely do not mince words.

    ... at all.

  • They like how things ended and really don't want anyone to mess with that.

Spoiler alert: If ya haven't seen Lost, know a bunch of "survivors" carry on ... only to find out they didn't make it.

But at least they all "move on" together.

  • Guess time will have to tell.

Lost ended in 2010, so there hasn't been a ton of time that's passed since the series finale. Just like the maybe Gossip Girl reboot on the way, we'll have to see how this all plays out.
