He's getting real about the breakup. Shawn Booth spoke out to his fans on Monday about his recent breakup with fiancée Kaitlyn Bristowe, and it sounds like it's something he's already come to terms with. It also sounds like he really doesn't harbor any bad blood for his ex and really appreciates the fan support they've received over the years.

  • Shawn shared this photo of himself and Kaitlyn, taken in NYC shortly after he proposed on The Bachelorette.

He left a message to fans in the caption. The 31-year-old wrote, "I just want to thank everyone who has been so supportive of my relationship with Kaitlyn over the years. You’ve made me feel incredibly special, supported, and very loved. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you. It truly means a lot. And thank you to everyone who has sent their love & support during this painful time. I love you guys."

  • The couple announced earlier this month that they were parting ways after three years together.

Their statement read, "After three incredible years, we have decided to go our separate ways. This difficult decision comes after thoughtful, respectful consideration. Even though we are parting as a couple, we’re very much committed to remaining friends and we will continue to support each other. Due to the nature of how we met, our relationship has always been very public, and we have enjoyed sharing it with all of you, but we ask that you respect our decision and our privacy at this time."

  • We feel like we saw the writing on the wall coming for a while though, to be honest.

They've been spending a lot of time apart lately, as he's been focused on building his career in the fitness and gym industry and she's been doing her own thing. Kaitlyn even addressed the breakup rumors in August, saying, "We are both so busy and unfortunately that means we're spending all of this time apart ... Shawn and I are 110 percent committed to each other and, yes, we are still together."

  • According to an inside source, it was a mutual decision to end the relationship, but it sounds like it was definitely more Shawn.

The source explained to People magazine, "This was the last thing Kaitlyn wanted. She was willing to fight for the relationship, but there was nowhere for it to go. It's only natural to think about the next steps when you've been together for three years. Kaitlyn wants to be married and have kids. But it didn't seem like they were on the same page."

The insider added that "it wasn't one of them who broke things off," and they are still "on good terms." Even so, Kaitlyn is "devastated." The source said, "There is a lot of hurt. Kaitlyn tried to make it work. She never thought this would end."
