Kaitlyn Bristowe & Shawn Booth Have Officially Called it Quits

Kaitlyn Bristowe, Shawn Booth

We had a feeling this Bachelorette breakup was coming, but that doesn't mean it hurts any less. It's official: Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth are over, and they announced the news via a joint statement to People on Friday that may just break your heart.

  • Because Shawn and Kaitlyn haven't seemed to spend much time together lately, we've been seriously worried about their relationship.

And now, it seems like those worries weren't unfounded, because after three years together, they've decided to part ways.

    Their statement said:

"After three incredible years, we have decided to go our separate ways. This difficult decision comes after thoughtful, respectful consideration. Even though we are parting as a couple, we’re very much committed to remaining friends and we will continue to support each other. Due to the nature of how we met, our relationship has always been very public, and we have enjoyed sharing it with all of you, but we ask that you respect our decision and our privacy at this time.”

  • It sounds like there's no bad blood here -- just that they've grown apart, which happens to a lot of couples.

And if that's truly all that happened, it makes sense. Kaitlyn has been doing her own thing lately, whereas Shawn has been busy building his business and opening his gym. It's not like either of them have seemed to have an abundance of time to make their relationship work, and according to social media, it's not even like Shawn and Kaitlyn have been getting in a ton of face time recently.

  • And although neither of them have referenced the breakup directly, it seems like Kaitlyn's putting all of it into her new music.

If you follow Kaitlyn, you already know she's been working on an album ... and it seems like her family has been visiting to offer her tons of support, as her dad did in the studio.

"Nothing like channeling emotions into music," she wrote.

  • We wish the best for Kaitlyn and Shawn, because we know this has to be a hard time for them.

On to bigger and better things -- and we have a feeling their friends from Bachelor Nation will be there for them every step of the way.
