"This is the true story, of seven strangers, picked to live in a house, work together, and have their lives taped. Find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real." Anyone who grew up in the '90s (and '00s) likely sat down to watch this OG of a reality show. And now, it looks like an official reboot is on the way. MTV's The Real World is officially making a comeback and is set to return next year with a few twists that will definitely make things interesting.

"The Real World made history as the world's first original reality show and trailblazing social experiment -- and we're thrilled to reboot the show for today’s audiences -- representing and amplifying the real life, real people, real places and real social tensions of each country," Matthew Henick, Facebook's head of content planning and strategy, confessed about the reality show heading to Facebook, Deadline reports.

Outside of Big Brother that first premiered in 2000, there really hasn't been a series quite like The Real World.

There have been several seasons and specials since then -- with Real World Seattle: Bad Blood rounding out season 32 in 2017.-placeholder

"MTV's The Real World helped to define a generation and created a new genre of television with a simple yet powerful idea of connecting people from wildly divergent backgrounds to find common ground on the issues that often divided them," MTV President Chris McCarthy noted about the show's revival. "By partnering with Facebook Watch and BMP, we have the opportunity to impact culture and create a new genre of television all over again, while engaging the next generation of content consumers around the world."
