'Teen Mom OG' Star Ryan Edwards Has Reportedly Checked Back Into Rehab

Ryan Edwards

He just can't seem to stay out of trouble. After dealing with legal battle after legal battle, Teen Mom OG alum and Maci Bookout's ex, Ryan Edwards, can't seem to set his life on the right path and is reportedly back in rehab for the second time in over a year. But this time, his time away might be lasting a little bit longer.

  • A source close to Ryan told Us Weekly that he checked into a facility in Alabama “about a month ago.”

The same source reported that Ryan isn't expected to leave rehab until February or March of next year. His current wife, Mackenzie Standifer, is due with their child later this month, so it's looking like the Teen Mom OG star might be missing the birth of his son, Jagger.

  • Ryan had a short, one-month stint in rehab back in June 2017, but it seems that he has slipped back into old habits.

His first time in rehab was because he supposedly drove under the influence on the way to his wedding to Mackenzie. He was then arrested in March for violating his probation for a previous heroin possession charge, and trouble ensued from there.

  • Ryan insisted that he was clean and “doing well, and life could not be better” when he spoke to Us Weekly right after leaving rehab the first time.

But after being arrested back in July for another heroin charge, we can see that wasn't the case. A source also told Us Weekly that Ryan was "in complete denial" about his drug addition, and now it seems as though his denial has turned into another visit to rehab -- hopefully his last.

Ryan's ex and fellow Teen Mom OG star Maci Bookout was just granted a two-year order of protection against him, and we wouldn't be surprised if she tries to extend that order now that he's running into more issues.

  • It's unknown what caused this break in his recovery, but we doubt we'll be hearing it from his side any time soon.

Ryan and Mackenzie are no longer on Teen Mom OG after they publicly quit back in July, so hopefully he can take the time he needs to truly make progress in kicking his addictions.
