Kaitlyn Bristowe & Shawn Booth’s Future Is Still Up in the Air

Kaitlyn Bristowe, Shawn Booth

It's been three years since Shawn Booth got down on one knee and asked Kaitlyn Bristowe to marry him on national TV, but are these two actually planning on tying the knot anytime soon? The Bachelor Nation couple opened up to People magazine about whether or not wedding plans are in the works, and how they've managed to escape the "Bachelor curse."

  • While they're still happily together, don't expect to hear any wedding bells soon.

Shawn told the magazine that they're still in no rush to get married, mostly because they're too busy to plan a wedding. He's been busy getting ready for ULTRA Fit Fest -- a getaway designed for beer lovers who love to work out, aiming to balance being active and healthy with having fun.

  • They've got both the fun and workout down.

In fact, Shawn thinks that their ability to be goofy and not take themselves too seriously is what's helped them survive the reality TV curse. He said, "I think anybody who knows us or follows us sees that we like to have a lot of fun. We don't take ourselves too seriously and we take it day by day, like every other couple. We have a great time."

He added, "We built that solid foundation on the show and have just become stronger ever since. We're fortunate enough to connect and we've been having a blast for the past three years, just being supportive of one another and enjoying each other's presence."

  • Shawn also has some advice for Becca Kufrin, who will be handing out her final rose on Monday night's finale of The Bachelorette.

"Just support one another as much as possible -- be each other’s rock," he said. "You're going to hear a lot of negative opinions coming from the outside. I'm always more sensitive towards the 'winner' because I know how hard it is … having to live it all out on TV, seeing all of the other relationships."

"Because you don't even see any of that when you’re on the show, right?" he pointed out. "You just assume you're the only guy, even though you know there are other people there. It's always extremely tough, so they've just got to trust and support one another."

It sounds like he knows what it takes to make it work.

  • Will these two ever decide to take the next step and get married?

It's hard to tell. Neither one seems eager to say "I do," and you know what they say if something isn't broken ... don't fix it. For now, they just seem to be enjoying life and each other.
