Arie Luyendyk Jr. Is Still Getting Hateful Messages From Becca Kufrin's Fans

Arie Luyendyk Jr., Lauren Burnham

While Becca Kufrin was busy talking about Arie Luyendyk Jr. on The Bachelorette last night, he was apparently getting a slew of direct messages about her. The controversial Bachelor star shared some of the sentiments he got during the episode last night, and it seems as though fans are pretty upset with him for "breaking" Becca.

  • Arie started off by pretending that he and Lauren don't religiously watch the show every Monday night.

Come on, how could they not be watching this season? Arie broke off his engagement with Becca for Lauren Burnham, and then ABC asked Becca to be the next Bachelorette about two seconds after the breakup. They have to be fascinated to see what happens.

Anyway, Arie claimed ignorance over being mentioned on the show at all last night, but he did share some screenshots of his Instagram direct messages with his fans in his Insta Story. This one simply called him "trash," but it certainly didn't stop there.

  • Someone even said he "deada** broke becca" and is a "walmart version of rob lowe."

At least Arie has a sense of humor about it, laughing at the Rob Lowe comment. Also, how did we not realize he kind of looks like Rob before?

  • And someone called him a waffle, which is probably in reference to his changing his mind about Becca after proposing to her.

We're probably never going to get over how Arie handled that brutal breakup (allowing ABC to film the entire thing was pretty rotten), but honestly, it seems like he and Lauren are much better suited to one another than he and Becca ever were. And it's been months now. It seems like Arie is pretty dang committed to Lauren at this point, especially considering they're getting married in January.

  • We're not really surprised that Arie gets hate mail over the whole Becca situation.

It's pretty much par for the course of putting yourself in the public eye anyway. When you mix in all of Arie and Lauren's controversy, of course they're going to get unsolicited messages from people on #TeamBecca.

We're just glad Arie has a sense of humor about it instead of letting himself be affected by it. After all, haters are always going to hate.
