Tonight's Episode of 'The Bachelorette' Sounds More Like an Episode of 'UnREAL'

Becca Kufrin

Is this The Bachelorette, or an episode of UnREAL? On a preview for Monday night's episode of the show, it looks like we're finally going to see what happens to one of Becca Kufrin's guys when he gets rushed away by paramedics. ABC has been teasing the dramatic scene for the past week, but according to this clip, it seems to be pretty serious.

  • We knew that one of contestants wound up in an ambulance, thanks to teaser trailers, but now we know that it's David, and it's much worse than we imagined.

There's usually some sort of altercation on any given season of The Bachelorette, so we honestly really didn't give it a second thought when it was teased that one of the guys was bloodied and checked out by EMTs. But they don't usually end up in the ICU, like David did.

  • According to the preview clip released by ABC, David is rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night.

We weren't sure what to make of David when he stepped out of the limo in that chicken suit, but it's obvious that he and Becca have hit it off over the first couple of episodes. We're assuming that David is OK, since we haven't heard any news that any Bachelorette contestants have died during filming (sorry to be morbid, but that it the kind of thing that would make the news), but will this affect his ability to stay on the show?

  • It doesn't look like it was a minor incident either, as David ended up in the intensive care Unit.

In the clip, one of the guys off camera is heard saying, "I woke up to Blake, like, screaming David's name, and he's just, like, laying there on the ground." Lincoln added, "I see David, just slumped on the ground. There's blood everywhere. None of us knew if he was going to make it ... Please do not die."

Please don't die? From what they showed us, it looks like David lost a lot of blood too, but we have no idea what caused the hemorrhaging. It doesn't seem like it was a fight or anything, and how often does a spontaneous bloody nose land someone in the ICU -- no matter how gruesome it looks?

  • When Chris Harrison came to tell Becca what was up, she was stunned.

She got an unexpected visit from the host at her personal suite. He told her, "Sorry to barge in, but there's something you need to know. There was an incident at the house last night. One of your guys was rushed to the hospital and he's in intensive care."

Becca is mostly speechless, but manages to ask, "Wait, what?" It has to be shocking news to get that one of your suitors has been rushed to the hospital and his life may be in danger. We're used to drama on these shows, but they're not usually life or death situations.

We're just hoping that it was only a scare, and that David had a quick recovery, and is doing just fine and dandy these days.
