New Details of Ryan Edwards's Arrest Are So Much Worse Than We Ever Imagined

Ryan Edwards, Mackenzie Standifer

According to a new police report obtained by Radar Online, we finally know exactly why Ryan Edwards was arrested in March 2017. We knew it had to do with his heroin addiction, but now that details have come out, we're shocked at how bad it really was.

  • Ryan had been pulled over for a routine traffic stop over his expired tags, when officers noticed a needle in his car.

According to the court documents from the cop who pulled him over, "When speaking with Edwards a secondary officer observed a hypodermic needle in an open back pack on the passenger seat. I asked Edwards to step out of the vehicle."

The officer continued, "I asked Edwards if he had any medical conditions and he replied, 'No.' I then asked why he had a hypodermic needle in his back pack and he replied, 'I don’t know.'"

After searching the vehicle, they discovered "approximately 14 hypodermic needles, one of which was loaded with heroin." They also found "two silver spoons with residue on them" and 1.8 grams of heroin. When asked about the substances, Bentley's dad reportedly answered, "It's heroin and I have a problem."

  • Edwards went to rehab for his addiction in May 2017, after an episode of Teen Mom OG showed him slurring his words and falling asleep at the wheel on his way to elope with Mackenzie Standifer.

At that point, Ryan was reportedly spending $10,000 a week on his drug habit. He was arrested again in March 2018 for violating his probation, but it's unclear as to exactly what happened. The day before the 2018 arrested, it was announced that he's expecting his first child with Mackenzie

  • Maci Bookout and her hubby Taylor McKinney were also granted temporary restraining orders against Ryan last month, after he allegedly threatened them.

Maci, who shares 9-year-old Bently with Ryan, wrote in her filing against Ryan, "He has left voicemail messages threatening to show up at my house and take my son. He has made threats to show up and hurt me if I don't answer my phone." Maci also claimed that last year, Ryan "showed up under the influence of heroin and got in my face, yelling and threatening to hurt me."

She continued, "His behavior and actions are getting worse. I am fearful for my three children and myself, and what he may do, based on his threats."

Taylor claimed in his filing, "He called me on Tuesday, March 20th, 2018 and threatened to show up at my house and put a bullet in my head ...The police were called and they suggested to seek an order of protection." He also pointed out Ryan's "history of drug abuse," and his threat that "he would show up at our son's baseball game and confront us, my wife and I."

  • We really hope that Ryan gets his act together and finally kicks his drug habit for good.

Bentley as well as Ryan's new son with Mackenzie deserve to have a father. From the new reports about his arrest, it sounds like things weren't pretty, if he wasn't even trying to hide his drug paraphernalia, but it's never too late to get clean and make better life choices.
