Arie Luyendyk Jr. can't stop the controversies from coming this week, and this time, it involves Bachelor host Chris Harrison. In an interview with E! News, Chris opened up about Arie's finale, and surprisingly enough, it seems like he shares a few opinions with fans right now.

  • In case you missed it, Arie said in an interview that he wanted to film his breakup with Becca to give her a shot at being the next Bachelorette.

And if you thought that sounded like a load of crap, you're not the only one -- Chris isn't buying it, either. He told E!

"Well, then he was thinking far ahead of the game. That's a decision that the Bachelors are never involved in, so unless he was just being incredibly creative and thinking as a producer and trying to produce the show as well as break up with a girl and make the switch, which, if he did, I am incredibly impressed."

  • Wow, Chris. Tell us how you really feel!

Honestly, we can't blame him. Arie was obviously trying to defend his decision and make it seem like that painful, horrible footage of his breakup with Becca had a happy ending, but it doesn't exactly change the way things went down. And it definitely doesn't mean that he had anything to do with her being the Bachelorette, except for the part where he cut her loose so that she'd be single and available for the gig.

  • Chris also added that he was just as blindsided as the rest of us when he found out that Arie wanted to end things with Becca.

"It seemed he had really come to terms with the fact that this was the woman for him and this was the woman his family really liked and he liked and would make a great wife," he said. "So that day there was never any doubt that I could see. He was excited and happy and so was she."

Sadly, it didn't last, and that has left us with the giant disaster that has been this year's finale.

  • Ultimately, though, Chris is glad things went down the way they did, because it gave fans the chance to see the reality part of this reality show.

"Relationships aren't always pretty," he said. "They're not always perfect. It doesn't always work. And you can't just show the pretty parts. That's not how the world works, that's not how love works. So I'm OK with showing the nasty and the ugly and the sad sometimes because that's what makes the good stuff so good. It's what makes when it really works."

Well said, Chris. And now, we get to see Becca find her happily ever after on The Bachelorette, so isn't she the real winner in the end?
