Farrah Abraham Is Suing MTV for $5 Million

Things between Farrah Abraham and MTV have not been going smoothly over the last several months. The Teen Mom OG star claimed she was fired by the network last fall, but then backtracked and said that she had quit, but she's been on the current season that is still airing, and well, we're really confused about what's going on, to be quite honest.

  • The only thing we know for now is that Farrah is reportedly suing MTV for $5 million over wrongful termination.

According to The Blast, the 26-year-old filed a lawsuit with the United States District Court Western District of Texas, suing New Remote Productions, Viacom, Eleventh Street Productions Anxious Eleven, and executive producer Morgan J. Freeman. Abraham claims that the parent company behind MTV, as well as the production team, harassed her "because she did not conform to gender stereotypes."

Sophia's mom claims that they were complicit in "wrongfully terminating her employment because she did not conform to gender stereotypes and terminating her employment in retaliation for complaining about the gender stereotyping harassment she suffered.”

For the record, Farrah believes that the gender stereotyping that took place has to to with "how women should act and appear, unreasonably interfered" where it concerns her "work performance and psychological well-being."

  • Farrah also claimed that executive producer Morgan J. Freeman "harassed" her.

Last month Farrah posted the Teen Mom OG clip above on Instagram with a lengthy caption, including: ".... it's disgusting, horrible that Viacom, Larry, Morgan & cast members over the 10 years I’ve worked with them always plot, schemes, spew their false, jealousy, hateful, discrimination & harass someone for their sexual freedoms."

In the current lawsuit, Farrah claims that Freeman "humiliated, discriminated, disrespected, ridiculed, degraded and sex shamed" her last fall over her decision to become more involved in the adult entertainment industry.

In the clip Farrah posted above, Freeman confronted Farrah about the way she has treated the Teen Mom production staff over the years, and said that they've had issues with her that they've never had with anyone else. Considering that Farrah makes the crew use port-a-potties in her driveway rather than her hall bathroom, we're a bit inclined to side with Freeman on this one.

  • She believes that she is entitled to $5 million because Freeman allegedly made threats about ending her career with MTV and elsewhere, and she was even in fear of her life.

The court documents stated, "Given Freeman’s hostile tone, mannerisms and body language, Ms. Abraham feared for her life." The confrontation also reportedly affected her "work performance and psychological well-being."

"The emotional pain, email suffering, inconvenience, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, and other losses Ms. Abraham has suffered, and continues to suffer, is severe," the statement continued.

  • It's hard to tell exactly what happened, or even if Farrah will be back on Teen Mom OG in the future.

After all, they excluded her in the initial re-boot of the series a few years ago, only inviting her back after several episodes worth of footage had been filmed. Considering that Maci Bookout nearly didn't come back when she learned that Farrah would be involved again, not to mention the animosity that's grown between Farrah and her other costars Amber Portwood and Catelynn Baltierra ... well, we just wouldn't be surprised if this is really the end of her road for Teen Mom

As for the $5 million lawsuit -- we'll be watching and waiting to see how it turns out.
