'Bachelor in Paradise' Finale Made Us Even More Confused About Dean Unglert

We're not sure how it happened, but somehow, between The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, Dean Unglert went from one of the most adorable, sweetest contestants the franchise has ever seen to a player who couldn't make up his mind between Kristina Schulman and Danielle Lombard. But on Monday night's finale of BIP, Kristina finally got the apology she deserved from him -- and it made us want to cry.

When Dean got into the hot seat with Chris Harrison, the roller coaster of emotions officially began. Since he dumped Danielle because of his feelings for Kristina, we had a feeling this was going to be a tearjerker, and it totally was.

And really, this just hasn't been Kristina and Dean's season at all. Seeing them both basically admit they still have feelings for each other but they aren't going to act on them? Ugh, it just hurt our hearts to see that go down.

The one good thing that came out of it? The fact that Dean was finally able to redeem himself. It's good to hear that he learned from his mistakes, because leading two amazing women on isn't cool -- and if he's ever going to be in a long-term relationship, this commitment phobia is something he really has to work on. It seems like his issues with his family have affected his dating life too, and it's so hard to watch.

And even though Dean and Kristina were, at one point, such a perfect couple, it's probably for the best that they're split for good. She deserves better than someone who doesn't appreciate her until she's no longer in his life.

Fingers crossed this is a sign Dean is turning over a new leaf. We want to see him get his happy ending someday, and this is the first step.
