Call it the circle of life, but sometimes people experience loss and a new beginning at the very same time. Little People, Big World stars Zach and Tori Roloff have gone from suffering extreme sorrow at losing a beloved family member to the joy of welcoming a brand new one -- all within a matter of months.

In this week's episode of the hit TLC show, the parents-to-be said good-bye to their beloved pooch, Sully aka Inspector Sullivan, a beautiful Bernese mountain dog.

Tori posted this gorgeous shot of Zach and their pet, whom they lost to cancer, on Instagram:

Because's there's really nothing sweeter than a boy and his dog on the farm, Tori and Zach hoped that their son would have a chance to pal around with man's best friend. She captioned the photo:

"Tonight's episode was one of the hardest stories I've ever had to share. Never did I think so soon I would say goodbye to my sully. There were so many dreams and visions that were destroyed when he passed. We always saw our family of four romping together at the farm. I always saw Baby J tugging and pulling on Sul and running through fields together. We saw road trips and walks and summer evenings spent all together. Our little family. The pain is still unreal whenever I think of our scup and how Jackson won't get to meet his big brother, but we know he is looking over us and Jackson has his very own guardian angel in the sky."

You don't even need to be a dog lover to have those words bring tears to your eyes, right? So sad.

But, in happier news, as the couple prepared to welcome their new little one, they began assembling their nursery -- no easy task, as any first-time parents will tell you. It looks like next week's episode will include a longer look at the duo attempting to put together the crib and changing table. (We wish them luck!)

Fortunately, based on Tori's Instagram, it looks like the room took shape well before baby Jackson made his appearance on May 12.

Look at this adorable mobile, which Tori noted she found at Restoration Hardware.

The whole room looks perfect. This is one lucky kid! The mountain theme is adorable.
