More than 10 years after Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra placed their first daughter, Carly, for adoption, they're still making an effort to be in her lives, and now, there's an update. On this week's episode of Teen Mom OG, Catelynn and Tyler finally got to see Carly, and their visit was emotional, to say the least.

We can't imagine what this is like for them.

After two years of not seeing Carly, finally, they got to meet up with her and her family in Detroit.-placeholder

After two years of not seeing Carly, finally, they got to meet up with her and her family in Detroit.

They made a whole event out of it, bringing along both Cate and Ty's moms, and they got to see Carly for two days, including a zoo trip that involved both of their families.

It seemed like everyone loved the visit -- and Nova was particularly excited -- but watching them leave was brutal. Catelynn and Tyler were heartbroken to see her parents comforting her when it came time for them to leave. It's a bittersweet situation all around.

However, what fans really noticed about the visit? The fact that Catelynn and Tyler were late.-placeholder

Before heading to the zoo, Catelynn and Tyler were putting the finishing touches on the scrapbook they'd made for Carly. It caused them to show up later than they originally planned to meet up with Carly and her parents.

Now, they're getting backlash for not coming prepared and for missing out on that crucial time with Carly, when it's been so long since their last visit with her.

But Catelynn and Tyler took to Twitter to defend themselves, and it sounds like everything worked out fine.-placeholder

According to Tyler, Carly loved the scrapbook so it was worth the missed time to make sure they could give it to her.

Hey, he and Cate are the only ones who know how it all went down -- we gotta trust him on this one.

Catelynn chimed in, too, tweeting that the time they did have with Carly was quality.-placeholder

Regardless of time -- or what the haters say -- it seems as if they had exactly the visit they hoped for with Carly. And as long as everyone's happy in the end, nothing else matters.

Seeing them have to pack up Vaeda and Nova and leave her was hard, though. We know they'll all miss her and Carly will miss them too.

Here's hoping they'll all get to reunite soon.-placeholder

It's so sweet that they keep their relationship with Carly and her parents alive -- even though it has to be so incredibly difficult for them to say goodbye when their visits come to an end.

But it's also special that Carly will grow up knowing her biological family (especially sisters Vaeda and Nova) and that they love her. That's what truly matters the most in all of this.
