13 Times Kailyn Lowry Wasn't Afraid to Do Her Thing

Kailyn Lowry
One of the things Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry's fans can all agree on is that she's open, honest, real, and pretty damn cool. And that means she isn't afraid to express herself or tell it like it is, no matter what the situation might be.

So on that note, we're looking back at 13 times Kail showed she didn't care what anyone else thought. You've gotta admire her confidence!

  • Calling Out Costars

In 2013, Kailyn didn't let it slide when she found out that her Teen Mom 2 costar Jenelle Evans was posting articles about the other girls on a networking site called Sulia. Jenelle said she didn't understand the problem and was only sharing others' opinion/blog posts, but Kailyn wasn't having it, and took to Twitter to let her followers know what's up.

  • That Age-Old Question

We don't blame Kail for basically showing how annoying it is when people constanly hound you about when you're going to have another kid. She was probably getting the question from people she knew and didn't know, considering the wide Teen Mom fanbase. Her bold statement in this tweet implied that she wasn't here for everyone bugging her.

  • Dragging Jo

In 2015, when some fans on Twitter were getting into a discussion about Jo Rivera (Kail's ex who is father to her oldest son, Isaac) and child support, Kailyn and her husband at the time (Javi Marroquin) were not afraid to explain to their followers that Jo didn't have or want a job. And, as Kail tweeted here, that Jo had been in jail. Jo's other baby mama, Vee Torres, was not cool with this and proceeded to get into a heated Twitter exchange with Kailyn

  • Throwing Shade at Shade

Kailyn once again basically sub-tweeted about Jenelle Evans, this time in response to Jenelle's comments about Kail's plastic surgery. Jenelle noticed Kail's comment and started making some cryptic tweets of her own about blocking people from her life, and being the black sheep of the group.

  • The Imitation Game

So this story all goes back to when Chelsea Houska announced she was starting her own website. Jenelle, who had recently launched her own site, essentially accused Chelsea of copying her for doing the same thing. So our girl Kailyn decided to jump to Chelsea's defense with the tweet shown here.

Kailyn killed at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards and was not afraid to take it to the next level with this exceptionally revealing dress. We love and admire her confidence.

  • Rejecting Labels

When fans and tabloids started buzzing about Kailyn's sexuality after she posted pics of herself with her friend Becky, Kail decided to address the rumors with the simple, succinct, and powerful tweet shown here.

  • Lip Service

After Kailyn faced backlash for her lip injections, she addressed the matter head-on with a couple of funny, self-deprecating tweets. ("I look like Marge Simpson!" she added in another tweet.) We love people who can laugh at themselves and don't take themselves so seriously!

  • Staying Strong

Kailyn isn't afraid to admit she's made mistakes. She's human, after all. And she's a good mother. Kail's tweet here came after she'd been relatively silent on social media following the announcement of her split from Javi.

  • F-Boy Foolery

Kailyn recognizes the man-child types out there, and isn't afraid to say it. Was she directing this at anyone in particular? Who knows? Our girl doesn't need to explain herself.

  • An Open Book

When you wake up in the morning and feel like it's gona be a shitty day, head straight for the gym.

Kailyn has been open about her plastic surgery, as well as her struggles with eating disorders. She's real with her fans, and that's something to appreciate. As she writes in her book Hustle & Heart (via Radar Online):

My decision to get plastic surgery came down to one simple thing: I'm human. I care how I look. I knew that being satisfied with my outer appearance would give me the confidence I needed to face the world head on. For me, the things that I wanted to change about my body were nagging little distractions from the deeper missions I wanted to work on.

Kailyn finally had enough of Farrah Abraham's constant comments about her and the other ladies in the Teen Mom franchise. She spilled the beans to Real Mr. Housewife

Here's the thing. The cast sometimes get into little arguments but most of the time they're little and we apologize and move forward. Overall, I think (I can only speak for myself) I try to be there for everyone and support everyone. The thing with Farrah is that she's so negative all the time. She never has anything nice to say about anybody on the cast. I see her doing big things -- I would love to be able to support her doing those things -- but when she's constantly slamming me in the media and saying things that are so out of left field, it's hard to find any kind of good in her.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how cool this chick is, and how she isn't afraid to express herself -- whether it be through the things she says, or the many tattoos she rocks?
