Kailyn Lowry Opens Up About the Custody Drama Between Her & Jo Rivera
It's been a rough year for Kailyn Lowry and Jo Rivera's co-parenting relationship, and apparently, things were a lot worse behind the scenes than we originally realized. In a new clip from this week's Teen Mom 2, Kail revealed the drama over the 4th of July that happened when she took Isaac to Hawaii when his dad was supposed to have him, and oh boy -- it wasn't good.
In the clip, Kailyn told a friend allabout what went down on the 4th of July.
Apparently, Jo texted her, saying that he'd be by to grab Isaac -- even though Jo knew that Isaac was with her. And when Kail reminded him that they were in Hawaii, he threatened her with court.
Kailyn said that Jo texted her, "I asked to have my son today, you agreed to that when you signed the custody agreement. Back to the courtroom, see you there."
Yikes.
At that point, Kail didn't know if Jo was actually planning to follow through with his threat.
It was supposed to be a holiday that Isaac shared with him, but Kail swears up and down that she let him know ahead of time that they'd be in Hawaii, which was a once in a lifetime trip for the boys. Honestly, knowing how close Jo and Kail once were, we're pretty surprised that the situation amounted to this much drama.
But it seems as if they've all patched things up since then.
In fact, Kail and Jo got together with their kids to celebrate the birthday of Jo and Vee's daughter, Vivi, earlier this month, so maybe they've finally put all that Hawaii stuff behind them.
That's a relief to hear -- especially because Kail seemed to think that jail was actually a possibility because she broke the rules of their custody arrangement.
Hopefully, everyone can just move on from the situation.
Jo and Kail have come a long way since they were teenagers, and we've hated seeing them jeopardize that -- whether it was related to this drama or the child support debacle that happened earlier this year. We love seeing this family come together. It's way easier just to get along.
And maybe in the future, Kail will get better at scheduling trips when Isaac isn't supposed to be with his dad? Just an idea ...
