Lauren Bushnell Opens Up About Being Hurt by 'The Bachelor'

It pretty much goes without saying that if you go on a show like The Bachelor, you're in for a world of Internet hate -- especially if you win. But just because it's reality doesn't mean it's right, and it sounds like our most recent winner is struggling hard with it. Recently, Lauren Bushnell opened up about criticism she's received from Bach fans, especially now that she has her own show with Ben Higgins.

In the premiere episode of Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After?, we saw Lauren attend the After the Final Rose taping for JoJo Fletcher's season of The Bachelorette -- and Lauren was not happy to be there. She was also hesitant to meet up with JoJo for lunch the next day, and it was obvious that Ben's past feelings for his runner-up were bugging her.

Unfortunately, those very normal feelings ended in some backlash Lauren's way, and according to what she told Us Weekly, she's pretty upset about it. She said:

You know, the first episode was tough because I think people were like, 'Oh, gosh, Lauren, you were so confident on The Bachelor, and now you come off as insecure.' I am a human being at the end of the day. I'm no different! I have struggles. I have insecurities. Ben and I have struggles.

Another interesting tidbit from the interview? Ben admitted that he doesn't think the edit they get is always fair to what really happened, and that he's hoping viewers get to see Lauren in a more positive light in the future.

Not surprising at all, since it's not like The Bachelor truly reflects reality, either. We're looking forward to seeing more of these two, though -- drama and all.
