Lauren Bushnell Shares Her Hurt After Finding Out Ben Loved JoJo

lauren bushnell ben higginsWe cannot imagine how Lauren Bushnell felt after learning that her fiancé told another woman he was in love with her too. Such is the issue of being on The Bachelor. Still, that doesn't make it any easier for Lauren to deal with, and that's a big part of what landed her and Ben Higgins in couples counseling.

At a press event, Lauren told Us Weekly that upon learning what happened when she wasn't with Ben on The Bachelor, she felt especially hurt after knowing Ben told JoJo that he loved her. Lauren called the revelation "confusing." But she defended him and said, "I don't think any of us can really put ourselves in Ben's shoes, and it took me a long time to learn that because I wanted an answer so bad. I'm learning to break down those walls -- that I didn't even realize I put up -- through honesty, conversation, communication and then just time."

We think we'd need a lot of time with that one. While we know it's a show, it's still love here -- two people fell in love, but one person also fell in (sort of) love with another person, too. And then had to decide who he loved more. Nobody said finding (and keeping) love while on The Bachelor was an easy feat.

Lauren sure didn't. She added that she felt "very alone" after the show and she went to fellow Bachelor star Catherine Giudici for advice, as well as former Bachelorette Trista Sutter. Through those friendships and the help of continued counseling, Lauren is feeling good about her relationship. She's confident in their love and knows that while unconventional, it's the way she found Ben, and at the end of the day, that's what matters -- that they have each other.

Let's also remember that these two are going to be on another reality show together: Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After? That's daring. We want this to end well. We also don't like that there is a question mark at the end -- though we know there is no such thing as happily ever after. It's more of a "let's work on this forever because we love each other" ever after.
