Ben Higgins & Lauren Bushnell Admit Their Relationship Isn't Perfect

ben higgins lauren bushnellIt was 10 months ago that Bachelor Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell got engaged. But the couple have opened up saying how things aren't perfect. In fact, Ben and Lauren are in couples counseling in hopes to work through their issues.

This is fantastic news. While some may be concerned this is a sign of doom for their relationship, it's really a testament that they want to do all they can to make it work. They did meet under "abnormal" circumstances and there are a lot of issues surrounding all the TV cameras and the fact Ben was dating a bevy of other women at the same time as he was wooing Lauren. Some counseling could do a world of good for them.

Ben told People magazine that they are far from the perfect couple but that they are "trying really hard and we love each other a lot." They are dedicated, which is incredible -- and more than we can say for some couples. Lauren added that they sometimes fight about the issues surrounding their being on The Bachelor -- a little therapy can certainly help. Ben stressed that it's all about building "a foundation that is healthy and pure and honest, with some help from a mediator."

He added that they aren't giving up on their love -- in fact, it's all making them stronger. It's refreshing how open they both are about this. Speaking out can actually help other couples see that maybe a little counseling could do their relationship good as well. We all know that happily ever after doesn't exist and that's okay because it's through the challenging parts of life that we become stronger, along with our relationships that are able to stand the test of time.
