'Stranger Things' Fans React to Report the Show Might Get Canceled
With the massive success that Stranger Things continues to have on Netflix -- especially now that Season 3 is out -- it's hard to imagine the show ever coming to an end. But could it be happening sooner than fans might think? A new report claims that Stranger Things could get canceled, and fans are freaking out about the possibility.
It sounds as if Netflix is toying with the possibility of ending the series after Season 4 -- and yes, that isnext season.
According to We Got This Covered, a source close to the streaming service says that even though the original plan was for Stranger Things to stretch over five seasons, it could end after just four. Apparently, it feels like the right time to conclude the adventures of the kids of Hawkins.
Apparently, the cast getting older is a major concern, and it sounds like Netflix wants to quit while it's ahead.
The outlet claims that with the kids getting older, the show could lose its charm -- although, if they ask us, we think watching them grow up has been part of that charm.
In any event, it seems that Netflix is being careful not to ruin the original magic of the show, and we can respect that ... as much as we don't want to say goodbye to this show. And as We Got This Covered reports, the wait for season four could be almost two years ... just like the wait we endured for season three.
Ugh.
A lot of fans are pretty upset about the idea, with some even threatening to cancel their Netflix subscription.
An extreme reaction? Maybe, but we cannot underestimate how loved this show really is.
Plus, there are a lot of amazing Netflix shows besides Stranger Things, not to mention the other good stuff that's streaming.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
On one hand, we can't imagine life without Stranger Things. On the other hand, isn't it better for it to go out on top, instead of going on for so long it's a shell of its former self?
We trust Netflix with whatever decision it makes. And in the meantime? Well, Season 3 might require a rewatch ...
