Leah Messer Is Overcome With Emotion While Talking About Her Rehab Stint (VIDEO)

We know it was a tough decision, but it turns out that it was harder for Leah Messer to get to rehab than we even thought. The Teen Mom 2 star was joined by her co-star Kailyn Lowry for an interview with Dr. Drew and Steve Harvey, and she got really emotion about her choice to spend a month in rehab last year.

Dr. Drew joined the ladies for an upcoming episode of Steve Harvey, and Leah opened up about her decision to get the help she needed to cope with her anxiety and depression.

Despite numerous rumors, Messer consistently claimed that she wasn't addicted to prescription painkillers, but still needed help in learning skills to cope with the stresses in life, including parenting three kiddos (one with special needs), a second divorce before the age of 25, and a custody battle with her twin daughters' dad, Corey Simms.

I think most people might need some help coping with all of that! Even so, it seems as though most people in her native West Virginia town didn't really get why she would leave her home for 30 days for intensive therapy.

"I knew I was suffering from something. I didn't know what it was. I just knew that I was suffering and I needed help," she tearfully confessed.

She also said that things have gone better with Corey in recent months, and they're actually co-parenting really well now. She revealed, "I came back from treatment, they actually look to me for therapy activities. We're in a much better place than we [were]."

Were so glad that Leah recognized that she needed help, and was able to ask for it, even if it made some people around her uncomfortable. She and her girls are so much better off for it!
