Corey Simms Blames MTV for Downplaying Leah Messer's Drug Problem

Corey Simms and Leah MesserDon't expect to see a lot of this Teen Mom 2 star's ex this season. Corey Simms is apparently upset about the way MTV has portrayed him, and how it portrayed his former wife Leah Messer's alleged drug problem.

According to Radar Online, insiders say that 26-year-old Simms thinks producers made him out to be a belligerent jerk while letting Leah off too easily.

Supposedly, Simms -- who is father to Leah's twins Ali and Aleeah, and is now married to Miranda Patterson -- believes the reality show missed an opportunity to illustrate just how much damage drugs can do to a family.

While it would be nice to think that Corey wants Leah's issues aired as a teachable moment for teens and other young viewers, we can't help but wonder if perhaps it has more to do with the former couple's ongoing custody issues.

More from The Stir: Leah Messer Adds a New Member to Her Family Again

Last season, Leah was fairly open about her drug use before she headed off to a treatment facility to seek help for emotional issues. The young mom of three admitted she'd been using painkillers Hydrocodone, Percocet, and Tylenol 3 to get over back pain. At the time, she was also reeling from her breakup with husband Jeremy Calvert. You'd think Simms might want to cut her some slack given all she's dealing with, but that's not the case.

Apparently, scenes of Leah appearing drowsy and slurring her speech weren't enough to appease her angry ex. According to friends, Simms has had enough of being the bad guy and told producers he and Patterson aren't willing to film as much as previous seasons.

We can't help but wonder if that's truly his decision or producers'. Still, we're sure there'll be plenty of drama with or without him!
