Jenelle Evans Files for Divorce From David Eason & Fans Are Cheering for Her
It's about time. Jenelle Evans has filed for divorce from David Eason, more than two years after saying "I do" in September 2017. The news comes after a tumultuous several months for Jenelle, which included David shooting and killing her dog, having her kids taken away by CPS because of it, and even losing her job with MTV.
Although Jenelle didn't divulge why she is divorcing David, TMZ is reporting that, "Jenelle believes she will not have a career in any field if she stays with David. She says she's looking out for her kids, knowing that she must provide for them." They also said that Jenelle now realizes how unhealthy their relationship was.
The last photo Jenelle posted of David was nearly two weeks ago.
She only captioned it, "Today was fun." Seems like a lot has changed in the last couple of weeks, and we're glad she finally seems to have some clarity about David.
We are also wondering what's up with her meeting with MTV execs last weekend. She was reportedly in New York City to meet with her old bosses, but there has been no news about her rejoining the show. Is it possible that she was there to tell them she's ditching David and to ask if she can film again?
Jenelle posted her news on Twitter as well, and it's safe to say fans are in her corner.
After everything we watched her go through with David, we're so glad that fans are supporting her decision to leave him.
After all, this guy has caused her to lose nearly everything in her life.
She lost her job with MTV and the Teen Mom franchise over him. She lost custody of her kids over the summer because of him. She lost her precious dog, Nugget, when he shot and killed the pooch for no good reason. He's put her through the wringer, to say the least.
Fans are really here for Jenelle.
Here's to hoping this split sticks. We are here for people who work hard to try to make their marriages work, but this is clearly a different situation. David has shown himself to be a toxic, abusive person over and over, on camera and through his own interactions online, and Jenelle deserves a big round of applause for finally walking away.
We wish her and the kids the best, and are looking forward to watching her move forward.
