Helen Mirren Tears into Drunk Drivers in Budweiser Super Bowl Ad That Will Have You Saying Cheers

If you're considering drinking and driving this Super Bowl Sunday (or ever, really), this dame is ready to clean your clock. Helen Mirren's Super Bowl ad against drunk driving is so uncensored and perfectly British, we'd be too ashamed to even think about drinking and driving even if we feel fine.

Budweiser is the genius behind the ad, which is part of its #GiveADamn campaign against drunk drivers during the big game this weekend. Oscar winner Helen Mirren makes no excuses for drunk drivers in the one-minute spot, coming at them as the "notoriously frank and uncensored British lady" that she is.

I think she nails it. "If you drive drunk," she tells the camera, "You -- simply put -- are a shortsighted, utterly useless, oxygen-wasting human form of pollution, a Darwin Award-deserving selfish coward."

For reals, you guys -- call an Uber if you've been imbibing. $40 to get home during a surge charge may seem expensive, but you know what costs more? A DUI. Not to mention what would happen if, God forbid, you actually hurt or even killed someone.

Anheuser-Busch said they chose Mirren for the PSA "to spark conversations about this vital issue on one of the biggest drinking occasions of the year." They stated that the dame has a "mix of gravitas and charm ... to demand that beer drinkers make a plan to get home safely."

In addition, Budweiser has announced that they will donate $1 toward safe rides home programs every time the hashtag #GiveADamn is posted on social media through 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 7.

Bravo to Budweiser and Helen Mirren for giving a damn about staying safe this Super Bowl Sunday.
