'Bachelorette' Ali Fedotowsky Gives an Update on How Pregnancy Has Changed Her

We're only a few weeks into the new Bachelor season, but viewers have more or less decided one contestant is bad news: Lace. Luckily, she has a friend in former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky, who says her pregnancy is making her a softy and defended the contestant.

The 31-year-old, who is expecting her first child with fiancé Kevin Manno, wrote a blog post this week about Lace, and her kind words prove what she says about how pregnancy is changing her for the better.

"BTW guys, I think pregnancy has made me a softy," Fedotowsky wrote. "That said, Lace is a human being and I want to give her a little love in case she reads this (though I'll totally poke fun when she does things that warrant poking fun at). But let me say that I'm sure she isn't as bad as what we see on TV. And even if she is, it probably stems from insecurity. So hang in there girl!"

Aww, well that's kind of her, and just the sort of sentiment you'd expect from someone who is preparing to give her love and protection to a child. Ali seems to be enjoying her pregnancy and told Yahoo! she considered it a "miracle" and that she is in awe of her body every day and "blown away" every time she gets an ultrasound.

More from The Stir: The 'Bachelor' Drama Heats Up Even More With Olivia & Lace

As far as her words about Lace, she's most likely referring to the awkward scenes between Lace and Ben that took place after Lace went bananas because she felt Olivia was getting to enjoy too much one-on-one time with the Bachelor. Lace then decided to pour her heart out to Ben and tell her about her difficult childhood, which ended with her in tears.

Now, there's nothing wrong with a little honesty and heartfelt emotion, but it's way too early in the show to get this emotional, and Lace came off as a bit manipulative. It's super nice of Ali to take the high road and offer compassion, because lord known Lace needs it today.

No doubt Ali is going to be a great mom, but let's hope her pregnancy hormones don't strip away all of her awesome snark.
