Catelynn Lowell Opens Up About Her Devastating Postpartum Depression in a Big Way

Poor Cate! She's always been pretty open about dealing with her depression and anxiety, but Catelynn Lowell recently opened up about her postpartum depression, and what she had to say blew us away.

The Teen Mom OG star told In Touch that her depression after giving birth to Novalee last January was so severe, there were days she didn't even want to live.

"I recognized it nine months after [Novalee, 11 months] was born," Catelynn said. "It's a daily struggle."

She continued, "My depression and anxiety were so severe, I didn't want to live another day ... I started having severe panic and anxiety attacks in the middle of the night, which led me into a deep depression. I needed help."

Thankfully she got it, and her hubby Tyler Baltierra has been a big part of that. He reportedly called a psychiatrist last year after she had a breakdown, and he's remained faithfully by her side. "He's definitely helping me," she confessed. "I'm doing much better now."

More from The Stir: Catelynn Lowell Shares Exciting News About Her Growing Family

It's not surprising that Cate has dealt with PPD this past year. While she and Ty were thrilled to welcome little Novalee, it's only natural that she'd also feel sad about missing out on watching Carly grow up.

Cate and Ty had their first daughter in high school, and placed her for adoption. While they've had an open relationship with her and her parents, and it was the best decision for everyone, it's still got to be tough.

We're so glad that Catelynn has gotten the help that she needs, and we're hopeful that she continues to get even better.
