Leah Messer Finally Scores a Victory in Her Custody Battle

It's been a hard year for Leah Messer, especially after she lost custody of her twins to Corey Simms. But she's not done fighting, and finally, she's managed to score a victory. Reportedly, Leah won back child support from Corey, which is definitely a step in the right direction.

According to what sources close to the Teen Mom 2 star tell Radar Online, the courts discovered that Corey had been making more money than he had put on record, so he was recently required to pay $6,000 to Leah to make up the difference. Yikes! That's a pretty hefty chunk of change.

Another source calls it a "recalculation" instead of back child support, saying that their support modification was on hold for a year, so Corey's just paying back the extra amount he would have owed over that year. Of course, we have no way of knowing what really happened, but it's good that Leah was able to get the money back that she deserved.

The source adds that now, even though Leah is no longer the primary guardian, she'll still be receiving child support from Corey since the girls are with her -- just not every day.

It's a small victory, but a victory nonetheless -- and one we have a feeling Leah needs right now. Losing custody of Ali and Aleeah can't be easy for her, especially since she's fighting to get her girls back.

Fingers crossed 2016 is better for Leah!
