Kailyn Lowry Weighs in on Leah Messer's Custody Situation

While it hasn't been confirmed yet, word is that one of the Teen Mom 2 stars has lost custody of her children. Now, Kailyn Lowry has addressed what she knows about Leah Messer's losing custody of her twins to Corey Simms, and to our chagrin, it unfortunately isn't much.

We watched Leah and her first ex-husband Corey battle it out for custody of Ali and Aleeah Grace during season six of Teen Mom 2, but last we heard from Messer herself on the reunion special with Dr. Drew (filmed last July), the custody arrangement hadn't changed.

Then news broke last week that Corey had managed to gain full custody of the 5-year-old twins. We can't even imagine how Leah might be coping with that -- poor girl has been through so much this year alone already, including a second divorce and a 30-day stay in rehab for anxiety and depression.

Anyway, Kail was in Los Angeles over the weekend at Star magazine's Scene Stealer party, where she chatted with Wetpaint about the future of Teen Mom 2, as well as her thoughts on Messer's custody situation.

Even though we suspected this from a plethora of social media posts from Kailyn and Leah -- along with posts from Chelsea Houska and Jenelle Evans -- Kailyn confirmed that season seven of the show is in production. So it's quite possible that we'll see the drama between Corey and Leah continue to play out on-screen.

More from The Stir: Leah Messer May Have Just Lost Custody of Her Twins

As for whether or not Leah really did lose custody of the twins to Corey and his pregnant wife Miranda, Kail claimed to be in the dark. When asked how she felt about Leah supposedly only being allowed to see her daughters on weekends now, she replied, "I don't know much about it ... Whatever's happening, I wish her the best."

I highly doubt she doesn't know what's going on, as the girls have said that they like to stay in communication off-camera, and they all text one another, but I think she's a good friend for not commenting on it. It's Leah's story to tell, after all, and she will when she's ready.
