'Bachelor in Paradise' Is Back With a Bang but Something Seems a Little Too Familiar

bachelor in paradise castYes! Who else was super-psyched to finally tune in for the premiere of Bachelor in Paradise Season 2? Man. ABC really ought to think about airing this show more than just once a year, because it totally packs more drama than The Bachelor or The Bachelorette could ever hope to bring.

I mean, sure, sometimes true love does come as a result of said drama, as was beyond evident, given the fact that the new season kicked off with Lacy Faddoul and Marcus Grodd's wedding. Aww.

(But how weird do you think Jillian felt attending someone's nuptials with her a** hanging out of a neon yellow bikini? Holy awkward.)

Of course, after seeing Marcus and Lacy get their official happy ending, the new cast totally believes they too can find true love at a Mexican resort that may or may not have air conditioning in the bedrooms.

But even though the cast was well chosen this season, who else kind of felt like we were watching a repeat of Chris Soules's season of The Bachelor? Ashley Iaconetti did the ugly cry at least five times, as did her sister, Lauren, who just might be even more over-the-top dramatic than she is. But then again, considering that Ashley has somehow shifted from wanting to be Kim Kardashian to believing she's Princess Jasmine in a matter of months is definitely kind of concerning.

And Ashley Salter? She brought the crazy. Duh. Of course she wound up in an ambulance on her way to the hospital. She probably ate a local onion pomegranate that hadn't been properly sanitized and wound up with one hell of a tummy ache.

One thing that is different this time around, however, is the fact that out of all the women on the beach, Carly Waddell was the first to snag a man -- and let's just hope she and Kirk wind up lasting for the long haul. They're all sorts of adorbs together.

As for Jade and Tanner? Yeah. We saw that one coming from a mile away too. She may have seemed into Jared at first, but she's clearly not the type of gal who "steals" a man away from a friend.

Oh, and um, nice cliffhanger with having Clare Crawley show up at the last minute to "ruffle a few feathers." Do we honestly have to wait a full 24 hours to see if she finds someone to "put all his eggs in her basket"?

Gah.
