'Bachelorette' Finale: Kaitlyn Bristowe Is Engaged but Not Done With the Jerks Yet

I know we say every Bachelorette season is "the most dramatic ever," but I think we can all pretty much agree that this Bachelorette season was THE MOST DRAMATIC EVER. And this finale was more than a match for the rest of the season ... even though we never got our Nick v. Shawn fistfight.

Before we even get to her pick, though, let's talk about the real star of this episode, a.k.a. Kaitlyn's mom. "I don't want to call you arrogant, but ..."?? RESPECT.

And it looks like she (and Kaitlyn's sister) had the right idea, because Kaitlyn is officially engaged ... to Shawn Booth!!

Yep, the rumors were true -- Kaitlyn's instant connection with Shawn won out over the heat she felt with Nick. This is now the second time Nick has been left in the dust during a Bachelorette finale, and I'd say that I felt bad for him if I 100 percent did not feel bad for him at all.

It's undoubtedly tough for Nick to be left behind (blindsided is the word that comes to mind -- I mean, how much further into that speech could he have gotten?), but DUDE. Was he not a massive jerk during that whole thing?

Kaitlyn was trying to gracefully dump him, and he sat there shoving words into her mouth and trying to tell her what she felt. He wouldn't even let her get an apology out! Sorry, Nick V. fans, but you cannot seriously tell me you didn't see his ugly side here.

BUT, there's no way the producers are letting Nick back on the show a third time, so we can forget about him forever. Let's focus instead on how over-the-moon-happy Kaitlyn and Shawn looked.

That girl was SHAKING she was so happy. She's been telling him he was the one from the first night, and that's gotta be something.

Yes, rumors have been flying that Kaitlyn and Shawn are already broken up, but it wouldn't be The Bachelorette if we didn't hold out hope for at least a little while that they make it long-term. And if we can make it through After the Final Rose without THAT annoucement, then we're doing okay.

Honesely, though, thank God we have Bachelor in Paradise starting next week. What would we possibly do without it??
