Lily Rabe Is Returning to 'American Horror Story' for Her Creepiest Role Yet

Another American Horror Story actress is returning to the series, and this time it's for her scariest role yet. Lily Rabe will reportedly play a serial killer on AHS: Hotel, the title of the wildly popular show's fifth season.

Rabe has appeared on all four seasons of the Ryan Murphy hit so far, an achievement shared by only four other actors. So far she has played a loony mother/ghost named Nora Montgomery, Sister Mary Eunice in the Asylum season, and Misty Day, a hippie witch obsessed with Stevie Nicks in season 3's Coven. She reprised her Asylum character in season 4, when she appeared in a flashback with Pepper (Naomi Grossman).

Her role has been unique so far, as she's the first major character to pop up in a flashback like that, in a show where each season seemed to stand alone, with recurring actors being given new characters each season.

For season 5, Rabe will be playing a female murderer who is staying at the already infamous hotel. Other actors joining her include Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett, Finn Wittrock, Chloe Sevigny, Denis O'Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley, and newcomers Lady Gaga and Max Greenfield.

It already looks like it's set to be the series's biggest yet, with possibly more twists and turns than ever before. At Comic-Con this year, creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that things will connect to previous seasons more than ever, with "more and more" former characters checking into the hotel.

The show debuts on FX in October, so we'll just have to wait until then to find out who Lily Rabe's character will be murdering.
