'Bachelor' Host Chris Harrison Admits He Plays Favorites

Chris Harrison, Bachelor in Paradise

What a sweet gig it must be to serve as host of The Bachelor! (As long as you have a high tolerance for drama, that is.) While the reality show and its spin-offs are always chock-full of characters and exotic destinations, host Chris Harrison admits he has a favorite: Bachelor in Paradise.

We certainly can't blame him! Who wouldn't love to party in Mexico for a while? But just what is it about this show (more than The Bachelorette and The Bachelor) that's stolen the 43-year-old's heart? He explains:

The leash is a lot looser there because, look -- you've signed up for this and you're back, you can do whatever you want! That's kind of how I feel on Paradise.

Of course, it's only in its second season, so it'll be interesting to see if Harrison's feelings change by the time the show wraps -- 2,000 tequila shots and tears later.

You'd imagine the arbiter of all rose ceremonies might be tempted to hang out with the cast, which this season includes Bachelor and Bachelorette alums Clare Crawley, Dan Cox, Jillian Anderson, Carly Waddell, Juelia Kinney, Jared Haibon, and Kirk DeWindt, but how Harrison spends his time may actually surprise you! The dad of two explains:

... the kids came down to Mexico with me for Paradise and I try to make my vacation and my stuff around the show. I mean, I don't hang out with cast ever. Maybe every now and then when I see them I'll say hi, but it's not like I’m sitting around having beers with them or something.

Makes sense. Sure it seems like mixing business with pleasure is part of his job description, but chilling in the hot tub with the cast would sort of be like taking his work home with him.

Still, we have to say, it all sounds like nice work if you can get it!
