Maci Bookout Is Releasing a New Tell-All & She Wants You To Know She’s Not Rich

Maci Bookout has appeared on TV for years -- and tabloids have pretty much followered her every move -- but that doesn't mean fame and public interest have resulted in a big pay day. At least that's what the Teen Mom reportedly confesses in her soon-to-be-released autobiography.

Her tome, titled Bulletproof, will be available on July 21 and, according to Radar Online, Maci doesn't mince words as she explains the financially raw deal she's received in exchange for appearing on various incarnations of Teen Mom over the past several years.

She writes:

Reality TV can make you very famous, but you basically get the sh*t end of the deal: Everyone knows your name and talks about you, but there's no red-carpet prestige or glamorous piles of money ... Once you become a so-called reality TV star, people automatically think you're a high-end celebrity and you travel the world and have a mansion and so much money and all these other things they associate with having your face on television.

Unfortunately Maci's story isn't exactly a new one. So many people flock to reality TV, share their lives, and give up their privacy -- but without much monetary compensation for it. I mean, there's a reason former Real World castmembers keep going back to MTV for those over-the-top challenges. And it ain't for funzies.

Hopefully her book, which joins a host of other autobiographies released by Teen Mom castmembers, will offer some financial comfort for the mom of two. Either that or a hefty raise for returning to Teen Mom OG. Fingers crossed.
