Leah Calvert's Divorce From Jeremy Has Been Finalized

It's officially over. Teen Mom 2's Leah Calvert and her second husband, Jeremy Calvert, with whom she shares a 2-year-old daughter named Adalynn, are legally divorced and have even agreed to a custody arrangement. So, the good news is: no more fighting is necessary — we hope.

Leah and Jeremy reportedly finalized their divorced on June 8th, and Jeremy actually agreed to give Leah custody of Adalynn, while he will be entitled to visitation rights. I hate to have to say it, but this couple seemed doomed almost from the start, what with infidelity rumors and Twitter TMI that let us in on the fact that they have had trouble communicating and that Jeremy refused to go to couple's counseling. Considering how they were only married for three years, that seems like a lot to have to deal with in such a short period of time.

Anyway, Leah has been battling her own demons, which include reported drug use and depression and stress — the last two of which she is (to her credit) getting help for after she checked herself into a 30-day treatment center. In fact, she is still receiving treatment and was unable to attend a hearing about the divorce.

More from The Stir: 'Teen Mom' Leah Calvert's Second Marriage Is Already in Deep Trouble

Prior to her relationship with Jeremy, Leah was married to Corey Simms and the two are co-parents to twin daughters Ali and Aleeah, 5. We got the sense that she was probably too immature to pursue a forever relationship when she admitted she cheated on Simms with an old flame even before their wedding day. If that isn't a warning sign, I don't know what is.

Now that her second marriage is over, I really hope she takes some time to work on herself and her relationship with her children before diving headfirst into another romance. Another serious boyfriend is the last thing she needs right now.

As far as her divorce goes, it sounds like Leah tried as hard as she could to get help for her and Jeremy, but it didn't work out. It's better that they cut ties now and work at being great co-parents to Adalynn than keep trying to find marriage magic where it doesn't exist.
