Kaitlyn Bristowe Admits Her True Feelings About 'Bachelorette' Twist

The major twist for this season's Bachelorette has many upset -- some even called it degrading that there are two women competing for the attention of 25 men. But we didn't know what Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson really felt about it all until now.

Bristowe, who clearly was in love with Chris Soules and many thought he was going to pick her before he choose Whitney Bischoff, told Us Weekly on the twist for season 11:

It was definitely unexpected, and I was shocked. I was kind of just beside myself, because I didn’t know what to think. I wasn’t excited about it.

I just really had to take a step back. And think of the light at the end of the tunnel. To be honest, it felt like it took the pressure off a little bit, which is a weird thing to say. I think there’s more pressure on the guys — like, who do they go to first? And they don’t even know us. So, I feel like it’s just the pressure off us and more pressure on the guys.

More From The Stir: Kaitlyn Bristowe & Britt Nilsson's 'Bachelorette' Deal Is More Unfair Than We Thought

On the first episode, it's going to be these 25 men deciding who will be the Bachelorette -- either Britt or Kaitlyn. So instead of some guys going home, it will be one of these women. Hey, there have been so many seasons of the Bachelor/Bachelorette they HAD to do something different here. It's a dating show, a reality dating show, people get eliminated a.k.a. broken up with every week. I have a feeling though that whoever gets sent home will re-appear sometime during the season to give the Bachelorette some advice -- perhaps some insight from that first day. (Like, he told me he liked me more than you!)

Britt seemed more at ease with the twist than Kaitlyn saying, "I mean, the situation is nerve-racking. You’re going to meet 25 people, and they’re there for you. And yes, Kaitlyn is awesome. She’s also a little bit intimidating, of course. But, I mean, honestly, I just felt like this is such a big deal when looking for like a life partner. It’s — I can’t do it wrong. All I can do is be myself. So, honestly, I wasn’t as nervous as I was expecting to be when it came down to it."

I know it's a reality show and all, but I am a romantic and believe love can be found in the strangest of places. Besides, any time you are out and about with a friend and you are both single and you meet people, there is a chance that person will be more attracted to one of you than the other. It's human nature. So let's have fun with this twist -- and do it on the next Bachelor too so the ladies can vote!

The Bachelorette premieres on Monday, May 18!

What do you think of the twist and Kaitlyn and Britt's reactions?
